Title : Library Assistant II, Part Time, Circulation Department
Specific Job Duties
- Provides excellent patron service to library users
- Checks materials in and out
- Fulfills curbside service requests and monitors web-based requests
- Answers telephone to provide information, answer questions or direct calls
- Shelves books and other material in the proper order
- Reads shelves to assure that materials are neat and in the proper location
- Assists in setting up for meetings, programs, and other events as required
- Issues new library cards and renews expired cards
- Troubleshoots basic issues with PCs, printers, and audio-visual equipment
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge Required
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 or comparable program suite. Experience with Microsoft Teams or similar program desirableAbility to establish and maintain productive relationships with work associates and the publicAbility to work independently and to identify and prioritize tasksAbility to navigate difficult situations with patronsAbility to remain in a stationary position for most of the work shiftAbility to move materials from place to place in the libraryEducation Requirements
Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Library work experience or experience working with the public is preferred.
Hours and Pay
19 hours per week, including one night per week and every third weekend. Starting pay at $18.17 per hour. No benefits.
