Step into a pivotal role that blends leadership with hands-on security expertise. As a Security Dual Rate Supervisor, you'll seamlessly transition between acting as a Security Officer and stepping up as a Security Supervisor—based on departmental staffing needs and operational priorities.
This exciting opportunity typically includes at least two days per week in a supervisory capacity, guiding your team and ensuring top-notch security standards, while spending three days per week in a Security Officer role, actively contributing to the safety and integrity of the property.

Security Supervisor Functions :
- Assists Shift Manager in accomplishing departmental goals and objectives.
- Coordinates all Security activity on an assigned shift.
- Monitors incident reports ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Initiates investigatory process when appropriate.
- Appears in Court as needed.
- Prepares work schedules and special details pertaining to shift.
- Personally responsible for all compliance matters pertaining to Security.
- Trains and coordinates staff to ensure compliance on all related policies.
- Performs duties as assigned.
- Acts as a role model and presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.
- Adheres to all department / company policies and procedures.
Security Office Functions :
Strive to offer warm and welcoming service to every customer! Responsible for the safety and well-being of guests and fellow employees.Check IDs and ensure all guests are at least 21 years of age to enter the casino.Observe and report disruptive or intoxicated persons.Provides guidance and offers general escort services, Security Dispatch, and security podiums.Patrols all sections of the property to identify safety hazards and breaks in security.Interviews, investigate and documents all applicable incidents in accordance with company policy.Protects company assets by adhering to Illinois gaming regulations.Verifies jackpot payouts.Observe money and chip transfers throughout the property.Provide medical attention in emergencies to guestsAbility to effectively communicate over the dispatch radioAdheres to all department and company policies and procedures.Acts as a role model presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s, and encourages others to do the same.Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policiesMaintain an upbeat demeanor in all interactions as well as maintain composure in handling difficult interactions.Completes all other duties as assigned.Requirements :
21 years of age or older required.High school diploma or equivalent required.Valid driver's license required to drive a security vehicle on the property when neededPrefer individuals with two years of police, military, or casino security experienceUpdated AED and CPR certification required (Or must be obtained within your first 90 days of employment) .Must possess good oral and written communication skills, along with a good working knowledge of basic computer programsMust be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cuesMust be able to get along with co-workers and work as a teamMust be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling customer needs and concerns.Must present a well-groomed appearanceMust possess excellent customer service skills.Good oral and written communication skills, including tact when dealing with difficult customers; must be fluent and literate in EnglishMust be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, holidays, and weekends.Must be able to obtain a Level 2 Illinois Gaming Board license.Internal candidates must meet Harrah’s Joliet’s Transfer Eligibility Requirements.Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demand :
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and carry objects weighing up to 40 lbs.Must be able to work in areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.Position requires 35% standing, 5% sitting, and 60% walking.Requires some kneeling and reaching overhead.Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations and be able to make rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues.Must be able to restrain individuals when a condition of arrest exists, physicallyRequires frequent bending, pushing, twisting, climbing, and stooping.Must be able to respond to touch, speech, smell, aural, and visual cues.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment involving constant public contact.Compensation & Benefits :
