HVAC General Maintenance Workers on Camp Pendleton perform general maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs of various types of commercial HVAC equipment to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly is the primary responsibility. You may also assist workers and journeyman by performing general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping them supplied with materials and tools; holding materials and tools; and cleaning working area, machines, or equipment. The ideal EMI HVAC General Maintenance Worker performs any task as instructed while following all health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctionsInspect drives, motors, pulleys and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklistsClean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machineryDismantle devices to access and remove defective partsrepair or replace parts and reassemble equipmentInspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirementsRecord type and cost of maintenance or repair workOrder parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storeroomsPerforms other related duties as assignedEssential Skills
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in HVAC in a COMMERCIAL / INDUSTRAL settingOperate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal partsUse hand tools, measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices such as metersUse rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments.Adaptable and flexible in work situationsPrioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely mannerPRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment.Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent2+ years related experience and / or formal vocational / technical training in a variety of building and / or utility tradesValid driver’s license compliant with REAL ID Act or are you willing and able to obtain onePass a pre-employment drug screening and background checkRegular, dependable attendancecitizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installationsPhysical Requirements
