Partner closely with the CFO and outside CPA firm on tax returns, audits, and compliance requirements, while overseeing broader tax planning and payroll compliance.
Oversee system integration and process improvements as the company transitions to Acumatica ERP, ensuring reconciliations, reporting accuracy, and workflow adoption.
Drive change management across accounting functions, upleveling Excel and technical skills within the team while introducing best practices and cross-training for continuity.
Prepare timely and accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, and present results to executive leadership.
Support multi-entity accounting, including coordination with sister companies and related businesses.
Provide oversight of cost accounting, internal audit processes, and insurance / risk management in partnership with senior leadership.
Collaborate with leadership across operations, sales, and purchasing to provide financial insights that support decision-making and profitability.
What You Bring as Director of Accounting
High emotional intelligence, with the ability to empathize, build trust, and achieve buy-in.
BA / BS in Accounting, Finance or similar, plus an active CPA, with a strong technical foundation in accounting and financial reporting.
Proven experience managing and mentoring accounting teams, with a focus on building skills, accountability, and modernizing workflows.
Strong change management expertise, with the ability to diplomatically shift “old habits” and raise the team’s technical capabilities.
Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) and comfort leading team technology adoption.
Experience with ERP / accounting systems and ability to support system conversions.
Exposure to multi-entity accounting preferred; knowledge of California payroll, property tax, and sales tax is a plus.
Willingness to work on-site in the San Gabriel Valley area is required.
Our client offers a base salary range of $150K-$175K / year plus discretionary bonus, 100% company-paid medical and dental benefits, life insurance, and 401K with match, and generous PTO.
