Purpose

Divergent is seeking a skilled and motivated engineer to support the next generation of industry-leading aerospace vehicle development. We're committed to transforming vehicles' structural systems away from traditional manufacturing by using new materials and new technologies. To do this, we need a forward-looking and innovative engineer who will help shape the future of automotive structures.

DAPS Product Engineer will be responsible for the product development through entire product life cycle, from program kick-off to start of production. In this role, you will create and manage CAD models, FEA models and BOM's for individual Nodes™ as well as full structures. You will develop and maintain engineering documentation, including system level DFMEA and DVP and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand manufacturing / design capabilities and limitations and to ensure proposed design changes can be efficiently produced and assembled. As DAPS Product Engineer, you will also act as technical liaison between Divergent and its customers, to ensure product requirements are concurred, tracked and achieved.

The Role

• Create and manage CAD designs of the components, as well as the BOM structure.
• Build up and analyze FE Models of Node™-based vehicle structures applications including validation using hand calculations and optimization.
• Present design summary / reports efficiently at meetings and to other relevant engineers or external parties.
• Create, refine, and execute new technical solutions for automotive structures to support external customer programs and joint development efforts.
• Work collaboratively in a team environment within the DAPS Product Engineering team and cross-functionally with other disciplines to efficiently design and release structures that are optimized for mass, efficient production, and assembly.
• Work cross-functionally to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and support prototype and production build activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, including best practices and lesson learned.
• Support vehicle builds and product development testing and troubleshooting.

At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at levels E02 - E04 as evaluated through our interview process.

Pay Range

$100,980—$160,325 USD
