Job Title : School Aide - Special Education Support (1 : 1 & Classroom)

Description :

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with developmental disabilities? Join our dedicated team as a School Aide, providing essential support to special education students in both 1 : 1 and classroom settings.

Under the supervision of the Special Education Department, teachers, and designated staff, the School Aide will assist students with instructional and behavioral needs. This role may also include personal care, physical mobility assistance, and therapeutic support as directed by licensed professionals.

Responsibilities :

Provide direct support to students with developmental disabilities in academic and behavioral tasks

Assist with classroom activities and individualized education plans (IEPs)

Support students with mobility, hygiene, and therapeutic care needs

Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff

Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications :

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

Experience working with children with developmental disabilities (preferred)

CPR certification (if applicable)

TB test (PPD or chest x-ray) and health clearance (as required by state or contract)

Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

Minimum age : 18 years

Preferred Skills :

Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills

Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively

Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and other developmental conditions
