POSITION DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Assists residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transfer, mobility, and continence care while using appropriate modeling and validation techniques.

Supports the resident’s abilities by understanding that all aspects of care can be viewed as an activity.

Demonstrates knowledge of the cognitive, physical, behavioral and psychosocial approach to all aspects of dementia by using a sensitive approach to all aspects of resident care.

Demonstrates therapeutic conversation and redirection conversation with residents, offering appropriate cues for participation in engagement and dining programs.

Demonstrates knowledge of residents regarding background, participation needs, physical abilities, interests, cognitive capacity and attention span capability.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

Must possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with the Massachusetts State regulations OR a Certified Home Health Aid Certificate. - required

Good judgment and decision making.

Reliability includes reporting to work as scheduled and on time and completing assignments according to facility policy.

Patience, tact, and a willingness to take direction and to work as a team member.
