Job Overview
The Superintendent will oversee all activities at the construction site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role involves close coordination with assistant project managers, field engineers, skilled craft workers, and subcontractors to deliver exceptional results. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a passion for construction and a track record of managing complex projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Oversight : Manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project blueprints, specifications, and schedules.
Safety Leadership : Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing strict safety protocols and promoting a culture of zero accidents.
Coordination : Collaborate with owners, design teams, and subcontractors to prioritize and coordinate work, ensuring seamless project execution.
Budget and Schedule Management : Monitor project progress to ensure completion within budget and on time, addressing any issues promptly.
Quality Control : Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and complies with all applicable codes and regulations.
Team Leadership : Provide guidance and mentorship to on-site personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Problem Solving : Identify and resolve critical issues efficiently, implementing innovative solutions to keep projects on track.
Qualifications
Experience : Minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 2 years in a superintendent role
Education : Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Skills : Strong knowledge of construction techniques, scheduling, and cost control. Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) is a plus.
Certifications : OSHA 30-hour certification required; additional certifications (e.g., CHST) preferred.
Attributes : Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
