LSI seeks a Childcare Business Specialist for Immigrant and Refugee Community Services in Davenport.

What You'll Do

Responsible for supporting refugee child care providers in language-appropriate training and skill development. Child Care Business Specialist will provide services to clients in both a classroom and in-home setting. Specialist will coordinate interpreted trainings and manage attendance tracking. Specialist will coordinate classes related to home safety and DHS regulations for child care. Home visiting will include supporting child care providers in meeting DHS health and safety requirements, business development, quality improvements and other community referrals, as needed. Specialist will provide administrative support to child care providers regarding DHS registration, timesheets, paperwork, mail, business operations and other information as it relates to child care registration. Child Care Business Specialist will ensure providers adhere to DHS child care registration process, rules and regulation.

What You'll Need

Required : Associates degree in a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working with immigrant or refugee populations OR Bachelors degree in a related field with 1 year of experience working with immigrant or refugee populations.

Preferred : At least 1 year of experience specifically in early childhood or childcare services. Additionally, preferred applicants will have experience with DHS rules and regulations for child care providers and experience or knowledge of small business operations and speak a language of the community, in addition to English, fluently.

This position requires the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
