Job Description
The Crew Chief, PFS is responsible for assisting with plant operations by leading and directing the production crew in the day-to-day activities. The Crew Chief, PFS also ensures a safe / food safe environment, leads sanitation of equipment, assists with inventory management, completes production paperwork / transactions, and performs required quality inspections.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and operate various production equipment and use computer controls to adjust programs, settings, parameters, etc.
- Motivate and create a positive work environment through training, line corrections, and support
- Responsible for completion of process control and administrative paperwork required per shift
- Maintain and support procedures and tracking for sanitation, GMP, and HACCP standards
- Maintain building / equipment via proper operations, cleaning, and preventive maintenance; take accurate measurements using applicable tools and equipment
- Assist manager with conflict and problem resolution and / or properly escalate issues to management
- Understand, train, and follow all safety, quality, sanitation, and production / operating procedures to make a high-quality product in a safe and food safe manner
- Trouble shoot problems effectively to prevent downtime
- Meet production schedules under direction of Production Manager
- All other duties as assigned
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Production Manager and interacts with other production departments.
