Overview
Under direction of the Deputy Director of Operations and Chief Discipline Coordinator, handles discipline requests, advises departments, coordinates issuance of discipline, researches issues and operational matters that arise as directed by the Deputy Director of Operations and Chief Discipline Coordinator which include but is not limited to collecting witness statements, gathering evidence, and developing an overall plan to address the matter, giving direction to departments as to how the matter should be resolved once approved.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the Chief Discipline Coordinator with processing discipline requests, gathering information, including, but not limited to, reviewing and collecting evidence, preparing recommendations on how to proceed, advising departments, and coordinating the issuance of discipline, once approved.
- As directed by the Deputy Director of Operations and the Chief Discipline Coordinator handles matters that arise in departments that involve employees and operations. These matters would not be under the purview of the ISSP, OIG, OEIG or EEO Officer. Duties include but are not limited to reviewing and collecting witness statements, gathering evidence, and conducting follow-up investigatory interviews. Using the information collected, develop an overall plan to address the matter and present suggestions on how the matter should be resolved and issue directions to departments, once approved.
- Assists the manager in the installation of sound personnel practices especially as it relates to discipline and researching employee and operational issues, setting forth procedures to handle these operational matters; participates in research studies, as assigned, to identify new methods or present suggestions to revise existing procedures.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Education and Work Experience
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college, with coursework in public or business administration AND three years of responsible professional experience in a public or private organization. Seeking a candidate that has 1-2 years prior experience as an inhouse investigation over HR matters such as EEO, union, or operational issues.
