We are currently looking for a new medical assistant to join the team at one of our Florida practices, Academic Alliance in Dermatology (www.academicallderm.com). Academic Alliance in Dermatology, an affiliate of Anne Arundel Dermatology, has 23 locations throughout Southwest & Central Florida. For over 30 years, Academic Alliance in Dermatology has been providing patients with premier medical and cosmetic dermatology services. Responsibilities

• Escort patient to exam room and confirm first & last name & DOB.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Organize patient flow.
• Setup procedure tray, instruments, and equipment according to instructions.
• Prepare Path / lab specimens, route to correct lab directed by patient insurance plan.
• Respond to patient questions in office and on phone as instructed.
• Check to-dos / Nurse line.
• Calibrate, clean, sterilize and inventory all equipment & instruments according to schedule. Keep appropriate records of maintenance.
• Maintain medication supplies, discard out-of-date supplies, and keep appropriate records.
• Maintain infection control and make sure supply rooms and cabinets are stocked.
• Ordering, sorting, restocking and inventory of all supplies.
• Document all medical instructions given to patients, thoroughly review wound care with patients when applicable.
• Anesthesia / Inject for procedures.
• Ensure all phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental mail are addressed in a timely manner.
• Must maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.
