SEARCHING FOR A CRITICAL CARE PHYSICIAN

General Description

A board certified or board eligible Critical Care physician who will provide

inpatient evaluation, diagnosis and treatment to Scripps Clinic patients. Scripps

Clinic Medical Group physicians maintain the highest standards for clinical capability, professional education, quality improvement and overall patient care. Pulmonary Medicine board certification or board eligibility preferred but not necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive clinical care to hospitalized patients
• Participates in coverage of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and other acutely hospitalized patients
• Shares other duties as determined by the Vice President-Medical Specialties, Department Chair or Division Head
• Participates in primarily nocturnal ICU shift coverage initially, transitioning to combination of day and night coverage in time
• Performs core Critical Care procedures, including but not limited to : intubation, fiberoptic bronchoscopy, vascular access insertion, management of mechanical support (e.g., ECMO)
• Performs accurate, complete, and timely documentation using the electronic medical record
• Participates in departmental clinical care quality assurance activities
• Maintains continuing medical education and board certification
• Participates in clinical program development
• Participates in the education of Graduate Medical Education trainees as well as faculty development activities recommended by the Academic Intensivist Committee
• Strives to achieve the Scripps Clinic Quadruple Aim

In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, Scripps Clinic Medical Group posts the pay range for our open positions. Please note that actual pay will be

determined based on relevant experience within the pay range. Scripps Clinic Medical

Group strives to ensure that our employees receive equal pay for equal work in line with our commitment to being an equal opportunity employer. Range based on experience and production : $451,000-$508,000.
