Job Overview

Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to organize and direct quality personnel who perform product inspections at all stages of the manufacturing process to include source inspections as applicable. This candidate shall have basic knowledge in welding and pressure vessel fabrication. The Quality Manager acts as a liaison between Murrieta Product Company supervision, the Authorized Inspection Agency and client representative(s) to ensure that quality and project requirements are satisfied. This individual will also be responsible for leading the front office Quality team to include administrative and specialist team members. Responsible for staff development, role definition, and resource allocations planning through the recruiting, training, assigning, and mentoring of all quality employees, communicating job expectations and monitoring overhead and job hours. The ideal candidate will have had experience working in a matrix organization reporting to GM of the site and dotted line to the Director of Quality of the heat exchangers business unit.

Annual Salary

91,000 - $130,000

Responsibilities

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

• Directs personnel engaged in receiving / shop inspection and testing activities throughout production cycles to ensure continuous control over materials, of Code and non-code products.
• Oversee and collect quality related documentation throughout the manufacturing process.
• Responsible for calibration program for inspection, measuring and test equipment.
• Ensuring finished goods and products meet and or exceed company standards as well as customer specifications.
• Reports inspection results, issues NCR's and corrective action plans as required.
• Participate in facility renewal audits : ISO 9001, ASME U, National Board Boilers & Pressure Vessels Inspectors R Stamp, Korean Gas Safety, DNV Authorization Of Manufacturer, and Bureau of Veritas Mode II.
• Inspect welded sub-assemblies and assemblies at designated points of the manufacturing process of ASME hold points.
• Plans, manages, and improves workflow through the quality control processes.
• Interfaces with manufacturing to coordinate required inspection agencies on witness / hold points for quality control processes.
• Responsible for streamlining the NCR / MRB process for the facility and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence amongst the entire facility leadership team.
• Be a liaison between quality and supply chain department to lead supplier quality investigations, conversations, approvals, and elevating supplier quality performance.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position requires Supervision of 3-7 Quality Control Inspectors and front office administrative staff to include planning and monitoring workflow of team members in conjunction with Murrieta Product Company Production Schedule.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely utilizes the operation of Microsoft software, basic office equipment, material handling equipment and various inspection tools as needed. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift to 25 pounds, and work with various materials and / or tools, as well as work and bend at different heights, in various temperatures, and be on feet for an extended period of time.

Employees are required to wear company provided PPE as / when needed. PPE's may include safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks.
