Part Time Weekend Receptionist
Southeastern Virginia Training Center is hiring a part-time, weekend Receptionist to join our Security team at our 24-hour facility. The Receptionist is responsible for answering a multi-line phone system and demonstrating a high level of customer service. This position maintains security by following procedures, monitoring logbook, issuing visitor badges and enforcing access control to the building.
At Southeastern Virginia Training Center (SEVTC) we serve citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are an intermediate care facility operated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) where we support individuals in state-of-the-art homes with accommodations unique to their specific needs. As the first point of contact for staff, individuals, and visitors, the Weekend Receptionist plays a key role in facility operations and security. Primary responsibilities include :
- Answering and directing calls on a multi-line phone system
- Greeting and assisting visitors while answering general inquiries
- Monitoring visitor activity and video surveillance systems
- Issuing visitor badges and maintaining accurate logbooks
- Enforcing building access control procedures
- Responding to emergency situations, including contacting police or fire departments as needed
Work Schedule : Saturdays and Sundays, 7 : 00 a.m. 3 : 00 p.m. Occasional holiday coverage required.
This position is hourly / wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year.
