Narrative Editor

Overseas and refines content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compelling storytelling across platforms, aligning with international media standards while preserving cultural authenticity. Collaborates with teams to adapt narratives for multiple formats, trains staff in narrative techniques, and monitors audience engagement to continuously elevate quality and impact.

1. Editorial Oversight & Narrative Sharpening

Review Arabic-language content across platforms to ensure accuracy, clarity, and narrative strength.

Edit for storytelling flow, emotional engagement, and reader / viewer retention.

Identify weak narrative points and enhance them with sharper structure, pacing, and language.

2. Style & Voice Adaptation

Adapt content tone and style to meet international media writing standards while preserving cultural authenticity.

Align output with the network's editorial line and audience expectations in MENA and global markets.

Ensure consistency of style across different formats (articles, scripts, social media posts, video captions).

3. Storytelling Development

Transform raw reporting into compelling, story-driven pieces with strong hooks, narrative arcs, and impactful conclusions.

Integrate human interest elements, data visualization cues, and context to deepen audience understanding.

Train reporters and writers on narrative techniques to improve in-field and desk-generated content.

4. Cross-Platform Adaptation

Collaborate with multimedia teams to adapt written narratives into visual and video formats.

Ensure stories are optimized for both long-form and short-form digital consumption.

Adjust scripts for video packages and podcasts, ensuring the storytelling style remains vivid and audience-friendly.

5. Quality & Impact Monitoring

Monitor audience engagement with narrative-driven content and adjust strategies accordingly.

Maintain a benchmark of excellence by comparing the network's output with top-tier international media.

Provide feedback loops to journalists to continuously elevate storytelling skills.

Other duties

Perform additional job-related duties and take on new responsibilities as needed based on organizational requirements and circumstances.

Candidates are required to have :

Bachelor's degree in journalism, media, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience

5+ years editorial experience with a reputable media outlet or brand

Strong storytelling, editing, and creative communication skills in Arabic, aligned with international standards.

Proven ability to adapt narratives across formats, including short-form video (17 minutes), scripts, and social media content.

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Premiere; experience with motion graphics and animations for digital platforms.

Knowledge of data visualization and audience engagement strategies.

Familiarity with major social media platforms and digital content trends.

Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, 24 / 7 news environment with a flexible schedule.
