Salary Range : $135,000 – $150,000 / year

About the Role
This position serves as the senior member of a 7-person actuarial team within the Actuarial Department. The ideal candidate will possess strong actuarial experience in the healthcare space and demonstrate leadership potential, with a goal of transitioning into a managerial role. Onsite presence once per week is required to foster team collaboration and development.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced actuarial tasks independently with limited supervision.
Maintain strong cross-functional relationships, including corporate leadership and department branding.
Communicate effectively across all organizational levels with emotionally intelligent, persuasive written and verbal communication.
Uphold company policies, ethics, and professional development standards.
Continually expand actuarial and business skills; maintain professional credentials.
Advocate and implement actuarial best practices across the company.
Act as a trusted advisor and mentor to junior analysts and team members.
Lead and execute strategic projects from inception to completion, including planning, coordination, implementation, and post-delivery monitoring.
Drive organizational change aligned with long-term strategy.
Identify and pursue business enhancements based on expertise.
Develop future actuaries through mentoring and providing professional growth opportunities.
Communicate challenges clearly and work collaboratively toward solutions.
Reassess personal career goals and seek development through coaching and training.
Required Skills
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Proficiency in data querying tools (SAS, SQL preferred).
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
Effective project management skills, including timeline creation, progress tracking, and issue resolution.
Education & Experience
Minimum Education : Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
Minimum Experience : 6+ years of actuarial experience (8–10 years preferred), particularly in health insurance.
Preferred Background : Experience with provider contracting and self-funded commercial business. Familiarity with trend analysis and pharmacy rebates. Prior mentoring or leadership of analysts. Experience from a large carrier or consulting firm (e.g., Mercer, Aon Hewitt, Marsh). Healthcare industry background is required.
