$2,435.26 to $2,678.79 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area / Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m., and may include evenings and weekends, as needed. Performs skilled professional work managing coastal and marine environmental programs, including habitat conservation and restoration, environmental protection, beach nourishment, marine turtle regulatory compliance, and other coastal-related environmental activities. May supervise other professional, technical, and clerical personnel.
REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences related to the area of assignment, including; Marine Biology, Botany, Ecology, Environmental Science, Coastal Zone Management, Biology, Zoology, Environmental Planning, Resource Management, Conservation Biology, or a similar field PLUS three (3) years of professional experience in a coastal environmental field related to the area of assignment including experience with coastal restoration projects. Must have the ability to swim and travel in watercraft and boats. A Master’s degree is preferred. Additional qualifying education and / or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
