Environmental Services Area Cleaner

This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful St. Lucie River. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a home away from home. Cleveland Clinic's Environmental Services Department is consistently among the highest-performing EVS teams in healthcare, and we're looking to add an Environmental Services Area Cleaner to our team to create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. The Environmental Services Area Cleaner role is a steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services and other departments within Cleveland Clinic.

A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) from 7 : 30AM - 4 : 00PM. A caregiver who excels in this role will :

  • Clean patient rooms, ancillary areas, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms and other assigned areas.
  • Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms and restrooms.
  • Follow scripting, policies and procedures on patient isolation and all Environmental Services technical and procedural standard operating procedures.
  • Follow and adhere to all hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
  • Complete one to three months of on-the-job training to learn departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning techniques and proper use and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :

  • High School Diploma or GED

    • Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.

    Physical Requirements :

  • Typical physical demands require a full range of body motion.
  • Duties may be performed while standing or walking for the majority of the shift.
  • The ability to stoop, stretch and lift while performing duties is required.
  • Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
