The Controller will oversee financial and accounting operations with a primary focus on divisional performance. The position is based in Fort Wayne and is not remote. Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting : Manage monthly Work In Process (WIP) reports, create divisional entries, and review job projections.
  • Cash Flow Management : Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for ongoing projects, including Accounts Receivable collections and weekly check runs.
  • Internal Controls : Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies to protect company assets.
  • Team Leadership : Supervise and mentor the project accounting team to support professional development.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with project managers and divisional leadership to ensure accurate project costing.
  • Risk Management : Identify financial risks and create strategies to mitigate them, particularly for individual projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role (construction industry experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards.
  • Expertise in Procore and CMiC
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced skills in Excel for financial modeling and reporting)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders.
