Position Purpose Assists in the ongoing development, maintenance, and integration of data relevant to facility planning. Manages all aspects of the District's Geographical Information System. Collects, records, and edits spatial and non-spatial information related to school attendance boundaries, residential development, streets / transportation, campus site / floor plans, and other critical location data.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Planning, Analysis, Reporting & Compliance Administers the District's GIS software, hardware, and related applications, including installation, updates, troubleshooting, maintenance and management. Performs data gathering, conversion, analysis, manipulation, and processing of geospatial data. Works with various internal departments and external agencies to coordinate GIS efforts and develop solutions. Develops and / or maintains all official District maps, including but not limited to attendance zones and single member district jurisdiction maps. Assists with data reconciliation and identification of trends relevant to enrollment forecasting and boundary scenario planning. Creates thematic ad-hoc maps or reports for various departments and stakeholders. Converts spatial and non-spatial data in a variety of formats into GIS format and creates and manages links between external databases and the GIS. Assists the department with maintenance and management of related non-spatial information, including but not limited to real estate documentation and capital asset management databases. Travels to District locations occasionally for field verification and / or collection of facility or site information. Coordinates with vendors on GIS related projects as needed. Uses technology to collect data, analyze findings, and prepare reports to support District initiatives. Compiles, maintains, and files related reports, records, and other documents required. Stays abreast of State and Federal public policy changes that could impact the District. Personal Work Relationships

Knowledge of GIS administration, maintenance techniques, and procedures. Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary. Skill in program planning, development, analysis and evaluation. Experience with the ESRI product line (ArcMap, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro). Experience with SQL and Enterprise GIS environments. Knowledge of programming languages such as VB, Python, R. Knowledge of Data Visualization tools. Skill in interpersonal relationships, including using tact, patience, and courtesy. Skill in working with initiatives that require collaboration with District and outside agencies and organizations. Skill in public relations, organizational systems development, communication, and interpersonal relationships. Ability to accurately prepare and maintain confidential records, files, and reports with discretion. Ability to reconcile data entry to source documents and review work for accuracy. Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff. Ability to use software to access databases, email, create spreadsheets, and do word processing. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written forms, and speak publicly. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. Travel Requirements

Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions. Minimum Required Qualifications

Education :

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; Master's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Certifications / License :

GISP or ESRI Professional Certificate preferred.

Experience :

5 years' experience in GIS or related projects.
