Smith Graphics & Design, Inc. is an area leader in marketing and design. We specialize in digital printing, flatbed printing, vehicle wraps, and overall design and identity for our customers. We are currently looking for a talented and detail-oriented graphic designer to lead others. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, adhere to deadlines and bring a fresh outgoing perspective to our team.

The Graphic Designer analyzes the ideas, files, and direction of the client in order to make their signs and graphics ideas a reality. They coordinate with the production team to ensure files are set up and print-ready in the most effective way to ensure deadlines are hit. This position is not for your average designer as you will be asked to Preflight, Design, and Proof all projects that come into the shop as well as understand how to use variable data and understand mailing requirements, as well as quoting software. This position is not for someone looking for a “starter” Graphic Designer position. We request that you have at least 4-6 years of graphic design experience with designing vehicle wraps, decals, logos, signs of all different signs and shapes, and file setup for large format digital printers and cutters.  Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Photoshop and Illustrator is required

REQUIREMENTS

• Create print or digital media using color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and other various techniques.
• Set up files for print for Digital Print, Printing Press, and Large Format Printers. INCLUDING  CUT CONTOURS
• Remain up to date on changing trends in the graphic design industry
• Actively communicate with clients and staff in a timely manner to understand and deliver design material to their satisfaction.
• Planning concepts by studying relevant information and materials.
• Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for approval.
• Preparing finished art by operating necessary equipment and software.
• Coordinating with outside agencies, art services, web designer, marketing, printers, and colleagues as necessary.
• Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed.
• Communicating with clients about layout and design.
• Creating a wide range of graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and websites with software such as Adobe AI & PS.
• Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements when necessary.

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours : 40 per week

Bachelor's (Preferred)
