Patient Care Assistant Outpatient

The Patient Care Assistant Outpatient supports the practice clinical staff and will perform indirect patient care activities focusing on maintaining an efficient clinical environment and the systems in which outpatient nursing care is delivered. Under the general direction of a clinical lead will provide a variety of uncomplicated clinical treatments and services for assigned patients in a patient care area. Reports to the department manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Facilitates throughput within outpatient medical practice to include obtaining vital signs and transporting patients within the outpatient medical practice.
• Enters patient screening forms accurately into electronic health record system.
• Performs general administrative duties to include but not limited to faxing, scanning, filing and copying.
• Cleans and stocks patient rooms and nursing stations.
• Schedules patient appointments.
• Provides appropriate non-clinical information to facilitate visit process.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :

Working Conditions :

Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like. Frequent exposure to communicable disease and moderately adverse working conditions due to performance of certain patient care activities.
