Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM)-Credentialed Behavioral Health Aide
Marion County Health and Human Services is seeking a certified recovery mentor (CRM)-credentialed Behavioral Health Aide to support our family-centered substance use disorder treatment programs. This position is based at Her Place, with coverage for His Place and Our Place as needed. The Behavioral Health Aide fosters a caring and supportive environment for clients and their families, assists with daily living and parenting skills such as household routines, meal planning, budgeting, and shared responsibilities, and provides oversight of children during scheduled onsite treatment activities. Additional responsibilities include supporting admissions and discharges, assisting clients in accessing community resources, organizing safety drills, conducting facility inspections, and helping maintain a safe, recovery-focused environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, compassionate, and has strong interpersonal skills, using their lived experience to support and engage individuals and families with children in recovery.
Typical Duties - Duties include, but are not limited to the following :
- Foster a caring and supportive environment for all clients and their families. Assist clients in developing organizational skills by assigning and ensuring the completion of daily chores and weekly deep cleaning tasks. Support healthy meal preparation by guiding clients in menu planning and assigning cook-day responsibilities to promote shared accountability within the program. Supervise and observe clients during the self-administration of prescribed and over-the-counter medications.
- Facilitate childcare services for all Her Place residents and outpatient clients attending onsite services, including treatment groups, individual appointments, and other treatment-related activities. Provide supervision for Child Welfare-involved clients during visitation with their children. Ensure all childcare and family support services are provided in a safe, supportive, and recovery-focused environment.
- Support the primary counselor in conducting client admissions and discharges, including completing an inventory of personal belongings upon admission and discharge. Assigning or inspecting rooms to ensure they meet client and family needs (e.g., providing or removing hygiene products, towels, bedding, bassinets, cribs, toddler beds).
- Assist clients in accessing outreach resources, scheduling appointments, provide or arrange transportation services for clients to attend community appointments and services or events.
- Organize and conduct safety drills (e.g., fire, earthquake, and other evacuation procedures) and maintain updated logs. Perform monthly checks on smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. Complete monthly facility inspections to ensure safety and compliance. Maintain emergency supplies and inspection records to ensure emergency preparedness.
- Assist with file management, completing ROI's uploading documentation in the electronic health record and assist with training newly hired staff.
- Transport clients to various locations, so driving is required.
- Perform other job duties as assigned by your supervisor.
