Description Under general supervision, to operate a City passenger car or van for the demand-response service. Examples of Duties Perform light vehicle maintenance, as required; to assist elderly and disabled riders; and to perform related work as required. Typical Qualifications LICENSE AND CERTIFICATES REQUIRED

• Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License and a good driving record;
• Possession of a current standard First Aid Certificate within thirty (30) days of hire;
• Possession of a current standard CPR Certificate within thirty (30) days of hire. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education :
• Education sufficient to ensure the ability to read and write at the level required for successful job performance. Experience :
• Three (3) years of licensed experience in the operation of motor vehicles. Desirable Experience :
• One (1) year of work experience driving involving the transportation of passengers or the delivery of goods. OR
• One (1) year of experience assisting the elderly and / or disabled. OR
• Six (6) months of work experience with a transit agency or department. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of :
• Provisions of the California Motor Vehicle Code applicable to the operation of vehicles in transporting citizens. Ability to :
• Safely operate a public transit vehicle;
• Be comfortable with physical limitations of the aged and disabled;
• Communicate with citizens having oral and auditory disabilities;
• Carry out oral and written instructions;
• Maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work;
• Be physically able to lift, carry and / or push 75 pounds on a regular basis;
