Facility Name : Memorial Medical Center Las Cruces

Position : Laboratory Assistant

Shift : Full Time Days

Schedule : Flexible hours / start times between 4am - 3pm. 8 hour shifts rotating weekends and occasional on call as needed

How youll contribute

A Laboratory Assistant who excels in this role will perform basic laboratory duties to include phlebotomy along with other specimen collection and waived testing.

Addition Responsibilities include :

  • Ordering processing and distributing laboratory specimens.
  • Review of pending reports manifests etc. for outstanding lab results.
  • Assisting other lab personnel with specimen storage and retrieval.
  • Ensuring Turn Around Times (TATs) are met.
  • Maintaining inventory for phlebotomy services reference lab supplies and departmental office supplies.
  • Performing phlebotomy duties.
  • Assists with receiving identifying accessioning processing and transporting specimens.
  • Maintains work area in a safe aseptic and organized manner.
  • Performs clerical duties including answering phones data entry and filing.
  • Communicates test results to appropriate healthcare providers.

Requirements :

  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent
