Job Summary

The HR Liaison will play a central and critical role in the Departments of Microbiology & Immunology and Anatomy. This individual will participate in all aspects of human resources activity in conjunction with the HR Shared Services teams. This position will also serve in an advisory role within the department in support of lab and staff personnel with regards to HR processes and transactions.

The HR Liaison will work directly with their assigned labs to gather necessary documentation to hire and renew all Non-Faculty Academic (NFA) positions, staff positions, volunteers, and without salary (WOS) appointments. This includes submission and tracking of all cases in People Connect and working directly with the finance team to ensure appropriate funding sources and the availability of funds. Initial funding entries in UCPath will also be processed by the HR Liaison. The individual will serve as a backup for HR liaison activities related to faculty and postdoc trainees.

This position will require 2 days per week on-site at the Parnassus Campus with the ability to work remotely the remaining 3 days.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $29.05 - $53.50 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

The Anatomy Department is a basic science department within the School of Medicine that performs scientific research, training and teaching. The Department includes 15 faculty members with primary full-time appointments, 15 faculty with joint appointments, and about 150 postdoctoral fellows and students engaged in research that covers questions in cell biology, developmental biology and the neurosciences. Faculty have laboratories at both the Parnassus Heights campus, where there is a focus of interest in cancer biology, and at the Mission Bay campus, where many of the neurobiology faculty are located. The administrative office of the Department is located at the Parnassus Heights campus. Required Qualifications

• BA / BS with a major in a related field and 2 year of experience in administrative analysis or operations research; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.
• Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
• Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
• Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
