A company is looking for a Hospital Inpatient Coder in a fully remote, contract-to-hire role.
Key Responsibilities
Assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes based on clinical documentation and official coding standards for inpatient hospital accounts
Collaborate with clinical documentation and quality teams to validate MSDRGs, patient safety indicators, and hospital-acquired conditions
Monitor assigned work queues to ensure timely record processing
Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Certified Coding Associate (CCA) - AHIMA or other relevant certifications
Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based (CCS-P) - AHIMA
Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) - AAPC or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) - AAPC
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - AHIMA
