Job Description
This role is a key member of the Compute and Data Infrastructure team, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable storage systems that support the University’s enterprise and research initiatives across two on-premise data centers and a colocation facility in Boston. The position focuses on Fiber Channel and NFS-based storage, integrated with vSphere environments and supporting a broad base of direct NFS customers. Responsibilities include storage automation, performance optimization, documentation, and ensuring reliable backup and recovery processes. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms such as ONTAP, SnapMirror, and SnapCenter; deep knowledge of NFS and FC protocols; and proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or C#. Success in this role requires close collaboration with vendors and internal teams to deliver secure, high-performing, and resilient storage infrastructure aligned with University needs. - Bachelor’s degree or four (4+) plus years of experience in computing technology or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience in integration of on-premises and cloud-based computing infrastructures.
