The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation / configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.

- Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members to provide superior guest service.
- Maintain, upgrade and manage software and hardware.
- Requires the ability to diagnose and resolve problems quickly.
- Ensure that technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Install and configure software and hardware.
- Manage network servers and technology tools.
- Set up accounts and workstations.
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
- Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills and experience in large IBM systems such as iSeries and AS / 400 environments is key.
- Working technical knowledge of CL programming language is a plus.
- Working technical knowledge of database structure, SQL query and analysis tools.
- Disaster recovery testing, documentation, and problem resolution.
- Perform problem isolation, definition, resolution and follow-up for system, application and customer problems.
- Recommend changes in system and application maintenance and standards.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
- Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
- Create, maintain and update technical documentation.
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
