You will provide engineering support and services to other SUPSHIP Departments, ship's force, NAVSEA and other DoD agencies. You will resolve engineering issues in support of a particular project and ship class. You will ensure that technically acceptable ships and craft are designed, fabricated, and tested. You will monitor closely the engineering workload, establish priorities where necessary, and provide advice and recommendations to the Chief Engineer and Project Officer. You will coordinate engineering matters within the Engineering Department and take appropriate follow-up actions to ensure the timely resolution of engineering problems. You will be responsible for assessment of the Contractor's activities regarding the engineering aspects of a construction contract. You will provide management reports to the Chief Engineer and Project Officer concerning the progress and performance of the Contractor when requested. You will maintain status of engineering problems affecting production schedules by continuous liaison with high level managers and engineers, and by attendance of Waterfront Management meetings.
