AES Clean Energy is a rapidly growing renewable energy company headquartered in Salt Lake City, with additional offices throughout the world. The AES Clean Energy Field Services Operations team is looking for a seasoned Solar Technician II with troubleshooting experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have the ability to take direct instruction from Senior Technicians, and demonstrate the ability to lead, train and teach other Tech I's, and Apprentices. As AES Clean Energy grows to become one of the leading IPPs in the industry, this role will provide an unparalleled opportunity for professional growth.
The position will be based in Lancaster, CA.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
- Performs corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations for which they are qualified to safely and efficiently perform for equipment including but not limited to installed Inverters (SMA), Trackers (NEXTracker & ATI), Combiner Boxes, PV Modules, DC Collection equipment and systems, AC Collection and Distribution equipment and systems,
- Performs routine maintenance work (electrical troubleshooting and repair, instrumentation calibration and troubleshooting, basic Inverter troubleshooting), up to their capabilities, as assigned and / or directed by supervisor and work orders from the maintenance management system.
- Prepares and implements switching and clearance orders.
- Operates electrical and mechanical power plant systems.
- Participates in training as required.
- Performs other technical and administrative duties associated with operating and maintaining a power facility.
- Assists with site vegetation mitigation plans including running tractors, riding mowers, and other Vegetation maintenance equipment.
- Writes Plant Orders, Plant Procedures, Operating Instructions and otherdocuments as assigned by supervision.
- Ensures work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirements.
- Performs work independently and / or in work crews.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $32,50 and $39,10 / Hourly; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment.
