RTX is seeking a Platform Engineer II / Linux with experience in Linux Infrastructure Engineering to join an agile product team. The ideal candidate will have general experience in both traditional infrastructure provisioning of platform resources for existing on-premise infrastructure hardware that ideally also has basic experience in emerging DevOps / DevSecOps & Modernized technologies. The Platform Engineer II would be engaged in the daily implementation of the system updates and upgrades with focus on the Linux Server / Linux OS.

The Platform Engineer II / Linux would be involved with implementation of traditional computing / network / storage systems and related software updates, as well as maintaining operating systems and existing server hardware designs, and supporting the design and development of new modernized system designs as needed.

This position is based in Richardson, TX, and work will be performed at the onsite facility requiring occasional travel to the customer site for upgrade and implementation activities as necessary.

What You Will Do :

• Leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to develop and communicate implementation of infrastructure solutions
• Maintain existing systems through Linux-based tools and manage the COTS stack on the system to support program needs
• Assist with integration of the selected platform provisioning tool such as VMWare
• Ensure that the COTS stack and versioning and will work with the team to make updates as necessary
• Travel to customer sites to assist in system updates and deliveries when necessary

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education / training, and key skills.
