Administrative Assistant

Our client, a leading organization supporting government and administrative functions, is seeking an administrative assistant to join their team. As an administrative assistant, you will be part of the tax department supporting administrative and data management tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Location : Newport News, VA

Pay Range : $18 / hr

Shift : Mon - Fri, 8AM - 5PM

Retrieve data from information systems such as invoices, tax exemption certificates, and business licenses to support government audits.

Respond to requests from customers and vendors for copies of tax documents, maintaining an organized repository of these forms.

Support the tax department with general administrative duties, including data entry and document management.

Participate in special projects and assist with manual uploading of certificates and data validation.

Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange.

1-3 years of experience working with Microsoft Office products (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Administrative experience supporting multiple functions in a dynamic environment.

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
