GFT is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support a variety of projects in the West Region. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Fife, WA office. Responsibilities What you'll be challenged to do : Our engineers enjoy working on a diverse range of projects in a variety of sectors, including schools, military, healthcare, municipal, institutional, commercial, and multi-family residential. This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer who thrives in a collaborative team environment. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following : Design innovative and efficient plumbing and HVAC systems for new and existing buildings Size, coordinate, and specify HVAC equipment and plumbing fixtures and equipment Calculate and analyze loads to ensure efficiency and maximize sustainability Draft in AutoCAD and Bluebeam Review drawings using Revit Attend meetings with the project team, including architects and other engineering disciplines Maintain working knowledge of codes and regulations Prepare documentation for permit applications Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and provide construction support to contractors Perform site visits and write field reports Troubleshoot design and construction challenges Take ownership of complete design on small projects with responsibilities increasing over time Help with entry level engineer training Qualifications What you bring to our firm : At least 8 years engineering design experience in plumbing and / or HVAC Bachelor’s degree in applicable engineering discipline Professional Engineer (P.E) license preferred Understanding of the A / E / C industry Experience with AutoCAD and / or Revit MEP Ability to work collaboratively with a team Excellent attention to detail Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Authorization to work in the United States (required) Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members. Compensation : The Salary range for this position is $115,000-$160,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
