Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Staff Quantum Modeling Physicist. As a senior leader, you will assist in mentoring our more junior staff while also engaging with other subject matter experts on advanced computing solutions, classical control electronics, hardware, and software. As a key contributor, you will assist in mentoring our more junior staff while also helping solve our most difficult architectural problems.

This position requires full time work on-site at Northrop Grumman's Linthicum, MD area facilities or our Annapolis Junction, MD facilities.

Basic Qualifications :

• Master of Science Degree in theoretical physics, applied mathematics, or STEM related engineering field and 10 plus years of relevant technical professional experience. Ph.D. in theoretical physics, applied mathematics, or STEM related engineering field and 8 plus years of relevant technical professional experience.
• Strong background in superconducting circuits and systems.
• Significant experience with computational methods for modeling and simulation.
• Experience with physics-based modeling and simulation.
• Experience writing version-controlled code in Python.
• Proven skill at tackling / solving complex problems.
• Ability to learn new topics quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work and lead in a collaborative, diverse environment.
• This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. Citizen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance per customer's requirements.

Preferred Qualifications :

Primary Level Salary Range : $197,500.00 - $296,300.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and / or personal business.
