Network Cabling Technician, LAN support, Desktop support
A Network Cabling Technician applies specialized knowledge to design and install Wide Area Networks (WAN), Local Area Networks (LAN), and Cable TV systems. They work in various settings, including computer software firms, low voltage system integration companies, wire and cabling companies, digital firms, and IT services firms
Key Responsibilities : 1. Design and Installation : o Assemble and arrange materials and equipment for network cabling.o Run, pull, stop, and splice copper and fiber optic cables (e.g., CAT5, CAT6, low voltage cables).o Mount telecom equipment while adhering to best practices, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements.o Install access control systems and surveillance cameras.2. Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting : o Assist in developing and maintaining network communications.o Test and assess LAN / WAN systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.o Troubleshoot networks and server infrastructure.o Handle backup and restoring processes for critical systems.3. Support and Communication : o Provide test equipment for testing new and suspected faulty cable connections.o Measure and replace identified faulty fiber cables.o Collaborate with other teams within the organization to arrange routers, hubs, and switches.o Maintain good relations with clients by addressing their issues or escalating them as needed.
