Crooked Media is looking for an LA-based Producer on the Programming department reporting to our Senior Producer to work on our flagship show, Pod Save America. The ideal candidate is an established news producer or news editor with a sharp political sensibility, knowledge of the workings of campaigns and government, and a collaborative approach to work. The candidate must have a clear idea of the Crooked brand, exceptional skills in talent management, an ability to work under deadline pressure and basic audio and video production skills.

This role is based out of our Los Angeles office, and follows a hybrid schedule based on the job's needs. We are ideally looking for Los Angeles-based candidates, or candidates willing to relocate before their start date.

How You'll Spend Your Time :

Programming Production

• Monitoring political news and newsmakers
• Pitching, booking, and scheduling guests and co-hosts
• Writing prep documents for interviews, including rigorous research and informed and focused questions
• Looking ahead to help the show and organization get ahead of major news events
• Working alongside Executive Editor and Senior Producer to write and fact-check scripts
• Working with hosts and show leadership to identify and edit audio and video assets for each episode
• Quality control over final show prior to release
• Working with Sales to track and record ad reads on a timely basis
• Collaborating with our studio managers to book studio time based on needed locations
• Sitting in on recordings to log topics and edits and to help identify social clips

This position is covered under the Writers Guild of America East Collective Bargaining Agreement and the salary for this role is $100,000.
