Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY
The Speech Language Pathologist provides both direct and indirect patient care services, working primarily with pediatric - and adolescent patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds (although adult and geriatric patients may also be treated). Under general direction and upon receipt of written referrals, the Speech Language Pathologist plans and administers a full range of speech therapy services for patients with a variety of voice, swallowing, and upper airway impairments and disabilities. Services include patient evaluations using speech language pathology tests and measurements, establishment of therapeutic intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention programs, and implementation of therapeutic intervention plans utilizing all aspects of the speech language pathology scope of practice. The Speech Language Pathologist maintains all applicable patient records related to the delivery of patient care services. While performing job duties, the Speech Language Pathologist may also oversee support personnel, student interns, and Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellows. The Speech Language Pathologist actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, clinical education programs, and in-services and staff development activities.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $55.84 - $75.16 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications
- Possession of a degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited professional educational program.
- Minimum of 12 months' experience as a licensed therapist.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
Ability to recognize signs of distress.
Possession of or proven eligibility for CPR certification.
