Position Summary :
The JCCC Metal Fabrication Department is seeking a welding educator to teach courses in Oxyacetylene brazing, cutting, and welding; Plasma Arc Cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Blueprint Reading, Metallurgy, and other welding classes.
Required Qualifications :
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with 7 years work experience in the field being taught
OR Certified Welding Educator (CWE) with 7 years work experience in the field being taught
OR Associate's degree with 5 years work experience in the field being taught OR Bachelor's degree with 3 years work experience in the field being taught
- Knowledge of safety in the metal fabrication industry
Ability to teach entry-level welding skills using lecture, demonstration and lab activities
Teach classes – teach metal fabrication classes for MFAB department
Attendance – Adjunct Professors expected to be here to teach each class.
NOTE : These classes are normally in the evenings between 5 : 00p and 10 : 00p M-R and often require 2 days / wk for each course.
Training – Must complete required college training and attend mandatory meetings as scheduled.
Communication – Must be able to communicate effectively with students and peers
