Position Summary
The Technical Content Manager (TCM) utilizes a strong welding and inspection knowledge and background to oversee the creation of AWS exam questions generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI) to ensure that AI-generated exam questions are technically accurate, aligned with relevant standards and references, and consistent with established certification requirements.
In addition, the TCM is a welding subject matter expert who writes, reviews and approves exam questions, playing an important role in new exam development and maintenance of existing certification exams. The position involves coordinating subject matter experts (SMEs), collaborating with the Assessment Group, and integrating AI-assisted workflows to ensure exam questions are technically sound, adhere to certification exam development standards, and adaptable to evolving project needs.
Essential Duties
- Exam Content Development
Create, review, approve, and maintain high-quality certification exam questions that accurately assess welding and Non-destructive Testing (NDT) knowledge and skills.
Collaborate with the Qualification and Certification Subcommittee members and the Assessment team to generate, review, and approve AI generated questions.
Review exam questions for fairness, bias, and consistency with certification best practices.
Stay current with advances in AI and exam development best practices.
Leverage AI tools to support item generation, review, and content mapping.

When working on site, this position is in a quiet to moderately noisy indoor office environment. Some travel is required.
