JARBO is hiring a Combo Welder / Fitter for a field-based role in the Kansas City Metro!
Our client is a top-tier provider of fabrication, welding, and mechanical services across commercial and industrial sectors. This is a journeyman-level position working on-site with a team that values safety, quality, and craftsmanship.
Position Overview :
As a Combo Welder / Fitter , you’ll perform a variety of welding and fabrication tasks—primarily Stick and Flux-Core welding—along with MIG and TIG as needed. This hands-on role supports the installation and repair of hydronic heating and cooling systems across job sites. Candidates must have field experience and be comfortable reading blueprints, working with pipe systems, and collaborating closely with installation teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Weld and fabricate components using Stick, Flux-Core, MIG, and TIG techniques
Cut, thread, and bend pipes for hydronic heating / cooling systems
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and layout plans
Install boilers, radiant floor heating, pumps, and related mechanical systems
Perform pressure / leak tests and ensure compliance with safety codes
Collaborate with HVAC techs, pipefitters, and engineers on system layout
Maintain welding equipment, tools, and ensure safe operation
Troubleshoot and repair hydronic systems when needed
Follow jobsite safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
Qualifications :
3+ years of field welding experience (Stick and Flux required)
Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core welding techniques
Knowledge of hydronic / mechanical system installation (preferred)
Ability to read blueprints, piping layouts, and schematics
AWS Certification or similar is highly desirable
High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred
Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and work in tight or elevated spaces
