Job Title : Process Engineer – Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing Operations

Location : Grand Rapids, MI (On-Site)

Overview :

A well-established, engineering-driven manufacturer in Grand Rapids, MI is hiring a Process Engineer to support production, drive process improvements, and champion operational excellence. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify inefficiencies, improve workflows, and help scale operations for long-term growth. What You’ll Do :

Analyze, troubleshoot, and improve manufacturing processes for safety, quality, and efficiency

Implement lean manufacturing initiatives and lead continuous improvement projects

Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams

Support equipment upgrades, tooling improvements, and layout changes

Collect and analyze data from production runs, downtime reports, and quality metrics

Develop work instructions, SOPs, and process documentation

Assist in scaling production for new products and implementing process changes

Participate in root cause analysis and corrective / preventive action efforts

What We’re Looking For :

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)

2+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment

Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, process optimization, or Six Sigma tools

Familiarity with production equipment, tooling, and plant layouts

Experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting tools (Excel, Minitab, etc.)

Bonus : exposure to ISO standards, ERP systems, or quality control processes
