The Whitney Museum of American Art is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Web Production Assistant to support the Digital Content team on a temporary basis. Reporting to the Interim Digital Content Manager, the Web Production Assistant will assist with updating and publishing content across the Whitney’s website and digital platforms. The Web Production Assistant works closely with stakeholders across the Museum to keep the website up to date by gathering and refining digital content, under the guidance of the Interim Digital Content Manager. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, a working knowledge of content management systems, and a passion for the arts and digital storytelling.  The role supports the accuracy of content online and ensures that the Whitney’s institutional voice and style are maintained across all media platforms. This role manages web project boards and production timelines using the Museum’s project management software, Asana.

Responsibilities :

• Gather, organize, proofread, and support the production of digital assets and content published on Whitney.org, serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders across the Museum.
• Plan and publish content to the Museum’s digital signage system.
• Maintain best practices for publishing on Whitney.org and other digital platforms, following the Whitney’s web style guidelines and employing digital-first language with great attention to detail to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and usability.
• Develop and champion digital best practices and cross-department working methods across the institution, including trainings for key stakeholders.
• Manage all web project boards and production timelines within the Museum’s project management software, Asana.
• Copyedit all digitally published materials.
• Utilize the Whitney’s custom Content Management System to design web page layouts that incorporate information hierarchies and optimal user experiences
