Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world. We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Construction Manager to oversee and manage construction projects in Palo Alto, with a focus on healthcare facility design and other commercial, institutional, and light industrial buildings. The Construction Manager will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from planning and design through construction and completion, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards. This is a 12-month contract position, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage construction projects, including ground-up construction, tenant improvements, and infrastructure upgrades for commercial and healthcare facilities.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to develop project designs, specifications, and estimates.
- Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations, including The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA, and National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) standards.
- Review and approve engineering plans, drawings, and calculations for submission to public authorities.
- Develop and monitor project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Conduct inspections to ensure that construction materials, workmanship, and systems meet specified standards.
- Assess and resolve construction issues and conflicts, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain project documentation, prepare reports, and communicate project progress to stakeholders.
- Perform quality control reviews and ensure construction meets the established standards.
