We are looking for a Senior Tax Analyst who has a good working knowledge in the preparation of federal and state tax provisions, begin to expand knowledge with book to tax adjustments for federal and state income tax returns, calculate estimated tax payments, and have a good working knowledge of tax software systems. They will begin to perform basic tax research and analysis, will be proficient in standard journal entries, performing reconciliations, validating tax balances, and understanding key business controls. The position may begin to focus more in either Life insurance, Nonlife operations, REITs, state, mutual funds or other areas.
Position Responsibilities :
- Prepare annual tax provisions including required distributable amount, incorporating all required tax adjustments to net investment income.
- Prepare the federal and state income tax returns for the Manufacturers Investment Trust portfolios
- Calculate tax basis dividend distributions for Portfolios of the MIT associated with the Company's variable product
- Determine excise tax distributable amounts for applicable portfolios of the MIT
- Prepare ROC-SOP (Return of Capital) adjustments
- Prepare tax basis adjustments of investment securities
- Review diversification tests applicable to tax rules for all portfolios
- Prepare reports for management as requested
- Participate on mutual fund tax related projects as needed
- Supports in planning, scheduling workflow assignments, and reviewing procedures.
- Interacts with Treasury, Financial Reporting, Investment Operations, custodian banks, Compliance, and Portfolio Managers
- Develop software solutions for Tax Asset managers in the development and implementation of internal controls for risk mitigation including preparation of written policies and procedures.

Salary range is expected to be between
$60,375.00 USD - $100,625.00 USD
