Summary : Responsible for providing structural engineering support by completing parts of large design projects or the entirety of less complex projects. Responsible for collaborating with project engineers and managers in the generation and production of structural calculations and drawings for projects involving bridges, walls, culverts, and other civil structures. Applicant will collaborate with a team of engineers, planners, and landscape architects.
Salary Range : $95,000 - $120,000 annually plus bonuses. Salary will be dependent upon multiple factors.
Locations : Colorado Springs, Denver, Phoenix or San Antonio.
Essential Functions :
- Perform in-depth structural calculations based on applicable structural codes and local standards.
- Prepare computer-generated engineering drawings according to established standards and procedures using latest AutoCAD program.
- Have ability to reference structural codes and local standards to understand their requirements and apply those to design.
- Revise or change drawings and completes moderate calculations with specific instructions.
- Prepare project specifications, summaries of approximate quantities and engineers cost estimates.
- Create informational graphic exhibits for internal and external meetings.
- Complete work within scope, schedule, and budget limits. Have a good understanding of how long tasks take and be able to articulate to project manager. Estimate scope and budget for task order proposals.
- Collaborate with team members to produce quality designs and construction documents in accordance with Matrix and Municipality standards.
- Work collaboratively within larger group and have ability to multi-task and assist others in project deadlines.
- Prepare supporting calculations, construction specs, and permitting in various jurisdictions.
- Work within defined scope, schedule, and budget parameters.
- Communicate as appropriate to project managers and project team concerning questions, concerns, progress, and results.
- Performs Level 1 quality assurance / quality control.
