BACKGROUND :
QAI laboratories is a testing, inspection and certification organization providing services to manufacturers of Electrical Products, Building Products, Vehicles, Factory Built Structures and other regulated products. Recognition of the QAI name and logo have grown significantly over the past few years resulting in significant expansion of the business.
We are looking for a Sr. Welder / Technician to join our Building Products team in Medley, FL. Our ideal candidate is someone who is good with their hands, can handle power tools, is reliable and / or has had prior experience in the construction industry.
DUTIES : The successful candidate will perform, but not limited to, the following duties :
Senior Welder :
- Read blueprints / drawings and plan layouts and procedures
- Take and read measurements
- Always follow specifications and instructions for maximum efficiency
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or machinery to be used
- Set up components for welding
- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
- Repair machinery or report damages on machines and equipment
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Work under strict timelines
- Able to lead a small team
