Software Product Manager
At Endress+Hauser, progress happens by working together. As the global leader in measurement instrumentation, our ~17,000 employees shape the future in the field of process automation. Whether developing and realizing new technology as a team, collaborating to build instrumentation, or strengthening vital relationships with countless global industries, we work to create trusted relationships that help everyone thrive. As a family-owned company, we look beyond short-term moves and work to create a vision that is forward-thinking for our people, our clients, and the world at large.
We are looking for a Software Product Manager to join Endress+Hauser Optical Analysis, the global leader in Raman spectroscopy, tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), and quenched fluorescence (QF) instrumentation for laboratory, process, and manufacturing environments. Our laser-based analyzer systems perform high-performance chemical composition and concentration measurement of all phases of matter in any installation environment.
What is the role about?
The Software Product Manager leads and oversees the full lifecycle of software product roadmaps, from concept through development, release, and end-of-life planning with the goal of enhancing the usability and implementation of Endress+Hauser spectrometers in laboratory and process control environments across our seven core industries. This role focuses on delivering innovative, user-friendly solutions that connect our instrument portfolio with data analysis and process automation systems.
Which tasks will you perform?
- Define and maintain strategic software product roadmaps aligned with customer needs, industry trends, and company goals.
- Translate market needs into product requirements and ensure alignment across departments throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and manage Market Requirement Documents (MRDs) with input from internal stakeholders and customers to ensure they reflect real-world use cases and industry demands.
- Collaborate with Engineering to define product specifications and performance benchmarks.
- Support Marketing and Sales with technical documentation, white papers, and industry publications.
- Lead product launch activities, ensuring readiness across pricing, documentation, training, and support.
- Track and report KPIs (sales, cost trends, margins, warranty expense) to guide strategic decisions and continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide expert-level support to Sales and customers, including technical inquiries and custom configurations.
- In collaboration with Engineering and Manufacturing, evaluate non-standard product requests for feasibility, pricing, and lead times.
- Create and deliver training materials for internal teams and customers.
- Conduct competitive analysis and identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation with support from industry management.
- Ensure integration and compatibility with external software and automation systems.
The duties above describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties; additional responsibilities may be assigned, as required, by management.
