Wheeling University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Theology at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in Spring 2026. The successful candidate will lead and develop the University's Theology program while teaching a 4-4 course load across the undergraduate curriculum. Candidates without the terminal degree will also be considered for a non-tenure-track position at the rank of Instructor.
Applications will be reviewed beginning October 2025 and continue until the position is filled.
Responsibilities
- Teach four undergraduate courses per semester in Theology, including core curriculum and upper-level electives.
- Provide academic leadership for the Theology program, including curriculum development and assessment.
- Advise and mentor students pursuing degrees or minors in Theology.
- Engage in scholarly activity appropriate to a tenure-track faculty member.
- Contribute to service at the departmental, university, and community levels.
